LIVINGSTON-BASED Pedal Power cycling team added to their medal haul for the season when the quartet of David Lines, Gary Hand, Gordon Murdoch and Kevin Barclay took silver in the Scottish Team Time Trial Championships near Forfar.
Although regarded as a road racing squad, they combined well in the race against the clock, covering the 37-mile course in 1 hour 24 minutes 18 seconds to grab second place behind an impressive Dooleys Racing Team outfit.

The Capital team, Bicycleworks.com were edged out of the medals in fourth place.

The women's competition was dominated by Edinburgh Road Club, with the top trio of Claire Thomas, Rosemary Byde and Jessica Wilson-Young dominating proceedings as they saw off their second string by more than six minutes with a time of 1:45.20.

Meanwhile, at the British Junior and Youth Track Championships in Newport, Patrick Galbraith (VeloEcosse) clocked a personal best in the Under-16 pursuit event yet finished eighth. Talented young Welsh rider Sam Harrison set a British record on his way to the gold medal.
