POLICE investigating the death of a cyclist who was struck by a lorry are keen to speak to an elderly lady who helped him after the crash.
Iain Wilson, 35, from Duddingston, died in the collision at the junction of Nicolson Street and West Richmond Street at around 9.30am.

A woman, described as white, in her 60s or 70s, and wearing a beige or light-coloured jacket, was seen walking north towards West Richmond Street and stopped to help Mr Wilson.

Officers are also keen to talk to anyone who may have seen him cycling in the Holyrood Park, Pleasance and West Richmond Street areas shortly before the incident.

He was wearing a red and grey helmet, red and grey jacket, and blue jeans, carrying a blue rucksack, and riding a red mountain bike.

A police spokeswoman said: "We know a woman stopped to help the victim when he was struck by the lorry, and we are appealing directly for her to come forward, as she may have information which could help our inquiries."
