CAPITAL cyclist Claire Thomas rounded off an excellent weekend at the Bedford Women's Two Day Road Race with ninth place overall, writes COLIN RENTON.
The three stage event finished yesterday with a road race over seven laps of a tough nine-kilometre circuit at Millbrook Test Track, the venue for the Top Gear television programme.

The Edinburgh Road Club rider acquitted herself well, crossing the line with the main bunch to limit her time losses and seal the top ten finish.

Meanwhile, tonight sees round three of the Meadowbank National Track League (first event 7.15pm), with Derek Smith (City of Edinburgh) leading the way.
