SFA chief executive Gordon Smith has revealed plans to revive internationals between England and Scotland are at an advanced stage, although it's unlikely a match will take place until 2010.
Smith has held talks with FA counterpart Brian Barwick and claims the fixture is "back on".

Scotland and England have not played each other since their Euro 2000 play-off in 1999.

They met at Wembley during Euro96 but, prior to that their previous meeting came at Hampden in 1989.

Smith said: "I've had discussions with Brian Barwick about resurrecting the game and it's definitely back on. The idea would be to establish some sort of relationship for one-off games or even have them biannually."

England boss Fabio Capello is keen on a friendly but FA director of communications Adrian Bevington said: "I don't envisage us playing Scotland over the next year but as Gordon Smith has said there is certainly a desire on our part to find a suitable date to arrange a fixture in the future."
