EVERY summer, for a couple of weeks, streets and courts are awash with "Wimbledon effect" racketeers. There are plenty of tennis courts in private clubs and public parks. Swimmers wanting to emulate Rebecca Adlington are reasonably well catered for. ...

Great to be able to remind myself of the importance of Hill's message that cycling is so much more than a 'mere' sport (though play is crucial to human health).
No other tool can FIX so many things at one swoop (especially given an assist from the government).
Please let yr readers know that here in the States we are alas nothing but automobile slaves, and the government reflects that. To us from over here, Scotland looks so progressive.
It gives me hope for you folks, but not enough hope for me to dig in and make Chris's sort of difference (why didn't you put a bio in, like how he has founded so many cycling advocacy groups...been involved in everything that has made Edinburgh a model cycling city.
