MINOR anti-Chinese protests remained peaceful as thousands of flag-waving people followed the Olympic torch on its almost three-hour journey through the streets of Bangkok yesterday.
No trouble was reported at a spot on the route where about 100 human rights demonstrators faced an equal number of China supporters.

Thai authorities deployed about 2,000 police and barricades to protect the Olympic torch along the relays 6.3-mile route.

The west, especially London, Paris and San Francisco need to hang their heads in shame, you always knock Asia, but at least things were kept peaceful here, showing you what civilization is all about. So before you start harping about our living conditions in this part of the world, get your own act together.

Way to go Bangkok, thank you for your hospitality.

#2 Mashimaro,
It is nice to see that protests can remain peaceful, no hooligans here like so many in the western world.

No trouble was reported, gee, I wonder why? Could it be that we are a couple of steps further up the evolutionary ladder here? Can't see any other reason for it.

Once again Bangkok, thank you for being such good hosts.

I hope the west is taking notes on how it is done.
