Olympic team striped for action

THE official look for Britain's Olympic and Paralympic hopefuls in Beijing was unveiled yesterday.
Adidas, famed for their three-stripe logo, has provided specially tailored outfits for each sport, which are designed to help athletes cope with the expected hot and humid conditions. The company is providing some 120,000 items of clothing and footwear to more than 500 athletes, coaches and officials.
Among those sporting the kit yesterday were pentathlete Heather Fell, decathlete Liz Yelling and cyclist Victoria Pendleton.
Nick Craggs, director of marketing for Adidas , said: "The climate will be a key factor in how our British athletes perform. The kit incorporates technology, helping keep athletes performing at their best."
Chris Tomlinson, British long-jump record-holder, said: "When there are so many world-class athletes you're looking for that tiny detail to give you an extra edge."
