LEWIS Hamilton's F1 victory drew a record number of TV viewers.
A peak of 13.1 million watched Hamilton, 23, finish the Brazilian Grand Prix in fifth position, becoming Formula 1's youngest-ever champion after the most-watched race in ITV's 11-year coverage.

Big deal, All this circus does is race around a track in a never ending boring procession. It's not sport. Maybe he will come back from exile and pay tax on his earnings. But don't hold your breath.

These cars are so difficult to drive that I doubt most drivers could even get them off the line, much less get them round a track without spinning off, much less be competitive.

In fact, even if you did manage to get the thing moving, your neck would go before you had time to get used to the car enough to be able to actually drive it properly.

And that's only the driving part. Add to that the stretegy, the engineering, the science, the techniques etc etc and you have an excellent team sport which is incredibly demanding and exacting.

Just because it doesn't involve some "household name" footballer who drives takes his kids to school in a Hummer doesn't mean it's not sport.

And good luck to Hamilton for living in a tax haven. Why shouldn't he? If the tax system was fair in this country (which it isn't) and everybody paid the same percentage rate regardless of what they earn (which they do not) then maybe there wouldn't be a need for people to become tax exiles.

In Monaco for instance, there is no direct personal taxation for residents. If you are earning the kind of money Hamilton is earning, living somewhere like that is a no-brainer really. Isn't it?
