Tom Lappin reckons that Maradona is the greatest player the world has ever seen. I assume he's talking about since the television age?
Bobby Kinloch, the ex-Hibs player who worked in Brazil when Pele played there, told me that nearly all the teams played the catenaccio system of deep defence, and still Pele scored most of his 1,300 goals playing in that league.

This argument is as silly as the pundits who regard Tiger Woods as the greatest golfer. He may be but I can think of plenty arguments to disprove it.
