As a resident near this years US Amateur, I watched Master Ramsay play this weekend. My mother Grace, born/raised Edinburgh, brother Phil, and I rooted hardly for him and his very sportsman like conduct.

He overcame difficult rulings two straight days to prevail, and he showed a love for the game that any golfer could recognize. I believe he hit every green his final round on a very demanding course, no matter what Dave Hill says :-)

All of Scotland should be very proud of his ability, and his graciousness

Some of the story details above are not quite correct. The limit for amatuer prizes is now £500. Also, amatuer golfers may not accept honorary memberships AS INDUCEMENTS TO PLAY FOR A CLUB. I think they can accept them from clubs they already play for? (See R&A website)
