Absolutely one of the best but IMO not THE best ever as claimed on the Beeb last night. IMO 1967 v World champs Ingerlund on there ain midden with Slim Jim playing keepie-uppie is still the best and v Holland with wee Archie's goal still up there too. But this is without doubt the the best for a very long time.
Sorry WKJ. This IS the best.
In 67, we beat England yet still failed to get to Euro 68, England went there and finished 3rd. - A glorious defeat.
In 78, we beat Holland, yet still went out - Another glorious defeat.
This game may get us to Euro 2008. - A glorious win.
This is the best - nae doubt whatsoever! Beating the 2002 world cup winners home and away! The only other team to beat them in about 40 or so matches was Italy!
#3 and #4 - We'll need to agree to differ and hope that history not see this in retrospective as yet another glorious defeat - there's still a lot of work to be done but, hey, sod it, I'm really enjoying today!
Aye quite right! take a couple of days to enjoy this result to the full. A truly awesome performance. I have never seen a Scotland team play with such concentration and intelligence for the full 90 minutes. No hoofing the ba' up the park (Gordon's pass to Faddy notwithstanding! Heh! Heh!). Some masochists in the pub last night were worrying about the upcoming fixtures as soon as the final whistle went!! Give yourselve a break people! These kind of results are few and far between. ENJOY!!! Got home to watch the highlights on SKY later on and was bealing at Richard Keys and the assembled Angles. Richard "The goalkeeper rather pushed it into the net" It wis going in anyway ya twonk! Glenn Hoddle "France aren't the side that the once were" That'll be the side that beat the WORLD CHAMPIONS in Paris and took a point off them in Italy a few days ago! Nae wonder we gie these Little Englanders a hard time. Give us some credit!!
Today is a great day to be a Scot, no doubt. I am always, but especially today, proud to be from SCOTLAND.
