The British Lions are not playing at Croke Park, why is the English Team getting a lecture about what happened at Croke park? It was british Tan troops made up of mainly Scots and English soldiers that did the shooting. The PM Lloyd George was Welsh, or considered him self Welsh and the C in C british armed forces was the butcher of the Somme Hague who was scottish.I would tell the irish to stick it.
I agree who gives a toss about it being the place where the used rubble from the risings, it is 2007 folks and I am sure the English will just take greater glee in winning there as a result of all of the bleeting in the media about this.
Croke Park makes absolutely no difference, at the end of the day it is fifteen men versus fifteen men.
I for one would not mind in the English won this one, would be good going into the match against Ireland facing a team that has lost cionfidence, especially if we beat Italy. At the end of the day would mean us going into the last game with a belter on our hands, especially if England lost to France
The "enemy oppressor"? Grow up Ireland! England is NOT Britain and I'm fed up having to take the blame for everything Britain did. Send Gordon Brown over instead to receive the history lecture - he's one of the few remaining Brits. Oh I forgot, the Scots are only British when it suits them - e.g. when there are subsidies to be handed out or when there are positive achievements to celebrate. The rest of the time they're happy to hide in the shadows whilst the English take the blame for all of Britain's past failings. Would this be happening if Scotland or Wales had been the first team to play at Croke Park? I doubt it. After all, their contribution to the empire was all pretty flowers and soft bunny rabbits, wasn't it?
Independence for England!
Does Mr O’Shea intend to instruct the Scottish and Welsh teams in this way? The British Prime Minister at the time was Welsh and the Chief of the British armed forces, Hague, Scottish. The forces consisted of Scots and English. I suspect that the English team has been singled out for this discriminatory treatment. Can Mr O’Shea prove me wrong?
I expect they'll also be educating the Scots and Welsh then? They do know what British means, don't they? They must know about the Welsh and Scottish involvement in Ireland? Surely they also know that the forces had Irish participants?
The Scots should make their own decisons about what to do with the Unionist Ulster-Scots. They're Scotland's problem now.
For the sake of the leery leprechaun! So much whingeing about bugger all....
Conor O'Shea is after all, RFU National Acdemy Director.
