JIMMY NICHOLL today admitted he was both baffled and frustrated at Aberdeen's inability to win at Pittodrie.
The Dons have yet to record a home win in the SPL this season, their latest outing, a 1-0 defeat by Dundee United, leaving Jimmy Calderwood's players facing a chorus of boos at the final whistle.

And that's prompted the Pittodrie No.2 to plead wit
h the Red Army go get behind the players in tomorrow's crucial clash with Hibs.

Nicholl said: "Everyone is entitled to boo after 90 minutes if we have not done the business on the park, but not before that. I accept the longer this poor form continues the crowd will become impatient."

But Nicholl believes the players have the solution in their own hands. He said: "We have been letting the opposition come to Pittodrie and enjoy themselves a little too much this season.

"This is wrong and we need to make it hard for teams coming here. It is vital we go out at home and show the fans we are desperate to do something about our form.

"We cannot allow teams to come to our ground and dictate the game and play nice passing football. That must stop now and we need to frustrate teams like Hibs.

"We need to close them down, get on top of them. If we do that and show more urgency when going forward ourselves, the fans will get right behind us."

Nicholl insisted tomorrow's clash was not a "must win" match for the SPL's second-bottom club, saying: "Last season we only had eight points after our opening eight games but still finished fourth."
