KENNY BLACK spared a thought for old team-mate Gary Mackay as his Diamonds side progressed to the next round of the Co-Operative Insurance Cup at the expense of Hearts
Former Tynecastle midfielder Black was today celebrating after Airdrie's spot-kicks win over the SPL side but admitted he knew just how painful the result would have been for Mackay, who was co-commentating for Hearts World at the game.

Black, who spent five years as a player at Tynecastle, looked up into the stand to exchange smiles with Mackay as the two sides prepared to take their penalties and he was still grinning from ear to ear today.

He said: "I personally enjoyed being back at Tynecastle. I had five good years there as a player and I was looking forward to the game all week.

Before the penalties were taken I turned round and Gary and I looked at each other and I think we both knew how the other one was feeling. He is obviously a big Hearts man, but fortunately it went our way."
