BOXING champion Alex Arthur will today take school children through an exercise class as part of an end-of-term carnival on the Meadows.
The Edinburgh-based super-featherweight will be joined by Edinburgh rugby stars Simon Cross, Ryan Grant, Steven Turnbull and Sean Crombie, who will take part in a game of touch rugby at the event organised by Edinburgh Leisure.

The free carnival follows on from last year's Happy Parade through the city centre which involved more than 500 children, adults, cheerleaders, clowns, unicyclists and pipers.

Event organiser Michael Pinkerton said: "We had such a fantastic response to our parade last year that we felt it was only right to keep up the momentum.

"If we can pass on even a little bit of our enthusiasm for sport, exercise and healthy living, then we'll have done our job."
