GREECE’S defence ministry yesterday announced it was scrapping a £3.4 billion agreement to buy 60 Eurofighter jets from EADS because of budget constraints in the wake of funding the Athens Olympics.
The order to update the country’s strike fighter force will be re-opened to tender. European, US and Russian military jet makers are likely to bid.
