EDINBURGH University medical student Nony Mordi has once again broken her own Scottish triple jump record, this time adding seven centimetres to her previous best in reaching 13.62 metres in the UK league division one meeting at Sports City, Manchester on Saturday.
Although she has still to achieve the automatic A qualifying standard, her performance is a terrific boost to her chances of being selected for the British team for the Beijing Olympics next month coming just ahead of the UK Trials at Birmingham next weekend.

Mordi, who represented Britain in last month's European Cup in Annecy, France, and has a wind-assisted mark of 13.76m to her credit, was more fortunate this time and was helped by a kindly following wind of +1.6 metres per second, just within the legal limit of 2.0mps.
