QUEEN'S Park secured their place in the Second Division for next season with a resounding win over already-relegated Berwick Rangers at Shielfield.

Two goals from Anthony Quinn shortly before half-time put the result beyond doubt after Paul Cairne
y had put the visitors ahead after ten minutes. But the opener was cancelled out by Keegan Ayre on 39 minutes, his first goal since joining from Hibernian on loan in January.

However, Quinn re-established Queen's Park's advantage within six minutes and doubled his tally 60 seconds later to make Gardner Speirs' half-time team-talk a good deal easier.

Berwick have won just once this year and their luck of recent times was summed up by Kevin McLeish's own goal four minutes into the second half which put the result beyond doubt.

Berwick: Flockhart, McLeish, Callaghan (Lennox 77), Horn, Tolmie (Wood 46), Thomson, Fairbairn, Ayre, McLaren, Howatt (Coult 58), Greenhill. Subs not used: McLean, Logan. Booked: Thomson.

Queen's Park: Cowie, Paton, Canning, Brough, Agostini, Trouten, McGrady (Torrence 74), Cairney, Quinn, Neill, Ferry. Subs Not Used: Ure, Bowers, Molloy, Cairns.

Referee: C Murray. Attendance: 325.
