AIRDRIE United teenager Kevin Watt will not forget his thrilling start to 2008. The 17- year-old marked the New Year by extending his contract to the end of this season and then, pitched into the clash with Peterhead with just 14 minutes left, the youngster went on to score both goals in a 2-0 win.
Manager Kenny Black's said: "He is an absolute breath of fresh air. We were needing a spark and he gave us that."

With just ten minutes left Watt swept the ball home from 12 yards to break the deadlock and then coolly ran round keeper Michal Kula
to knock in his 87th-minute second.

Ross County leaped back to top spot with a 1-0 win over Raith Rovers thanks to a disputed Sean Higgins strike.

Raith felt the goal should have been disallowed with Andy Barrowman in an offside position.

County manager Derek Adams said: "I do not know what happened at the goal but we won the game fair and square."

Queen's Park manager Billy Stark had the perfect send off as he moves out to take charge of the Scotland under-21's. Second-half goals from Steve Canning and Alan Trouten earned a 2-1 win at Alloa.

Cowdenbeath manager Brian Welsh was happy that his two new signings Paul McQuade and John Dempster both scored in the 2-0 win over Ayr.

It took an amazing two goals from Iain Diack in the final five minutes to earn Berwick a point in a 2-2 draw with Brechin after Charlie King and Callum Smith had given Brechin the lead.
