THE SFA could be asked to look at supplying a fourth official at lower league games following an injury to a linesman during the clash between Raith Rovers and Peterhead on Saturday.
The second half was held up for 15 minutes while a call went out for a substitute to take over running the line after Colin Duncan could not resume due to a pulled hamstring.
A volunteer was found in the crowd but was involved in a major incident
when Raith's Iain Davidson thought he had scored. Raith manager John McGlynn was left shocked when referee Alan Muir ruled out a goal for offside during their 2-2 draw even though the substitute kept his flag down.
McGlynn said: "The referee was 15 yards away but took the decision to disallow the goal even though the substitute linesman had kept his flag down. That is hard to take. They put a guy out there to do a job but then did not pay attention to him."
Although on-loan David Goodwillie drove in the opener for Raith, Peterhead hit back to take the lead thanks to an own goal from Todd Lumsden and a Steven Istead strike. However, Goodwillie struck again with 12 minutes remaining to earn his side a point.
Alloa were left disappointed when fog caused the abandonment of their match against Berwick as they led 2-1 midway through the second half.
