SCOTTISH CUP winners Bainfield have two more chances to add to their haul of indoor bowls silverware when they tackle Abbeyview in the final of the Cities & Counties championship at Perth tomorrow then travel to Lanarkshire on Sunday for the final of the Under-35 League Cup against Blantyre.
The Scottish Cup team remains mostly unchanged for the visit to the Dewar's Centre in Perth but Robert Marshall is missing and Stevie McLeod steps up to join Chris Steven, Gavin Smith and Paul O'Donnell at the helm of the four rinks.

The same four
skips take charge of the Under-35 challenge on Sunday when Bainfield renew rivalry with last weekend's Scottish Cup victims.

Sunday's line up includes two young women in Mandy O'Donnell and Kathryn Crombie.

Alec Ross is a "golden oldie" at 66 but the father figure of competitive bowling at Bainfield is still capable of mixing it with the younger brigade and has reached the final of the singles championship with a 21-8 win over John Pryde.

Ross won the title in 1986, 1988 and 1990 and will bid for further success against another previous champion in Craig Moss, who finished off his recent semi-final success with a cracking full house 4 to beat Chris Downie in a 21-18 nail biter.

LAST NIGHT'S finals at Portobello saw the men's national fours qualifier won by the rink of Jamie Reid, Thomas Brown, Andrew Caldwell and John McDermott.

Their chief highlight came with the count of a 6 at the 11th end to lead 18-7 and they went on to wrap up a 22-8 victory over John Moodie, Davy McLeod, John Lockhart and Alan Greig.

The result means the Portobello banner in next season's national will be carried by a very young quartet as Reid and Brown are both only 16 and Caldwell and McDermott 21.

The final of the women's Two-Bowl Pairs went right down to the wire with Molly Sprott and Marianne McGarrity carding a single at the last end to win the third set 6-5, and the match 2-1 against Cathy Ward and Harriet Munro.
