THE clash between two Premier League title-winning stars for the Under-25 Singles title at Bainfield promised to be an explosive occasion but it turned out to be a damp squib with Craig Moss scoring a runaway 21-3 win over a luckless Stuart Patterson.
The final lasted 15 ends and the only fuse that was lit belonged to Moss who rocketed into a 12-0 lead after eight and was well on his way to victory.

The final of the men's national Fours qualifier saw the rink of Graeme McIntosh, John Storrier,
Stevie McLeod and Barry Hill score a 15-10 victory over the rink of Raymond Milne, Ronnie Minto, Craig Paterson and Alan Brown.

The decisive passage came at 8-7 with Hill carding a one and a four to 13 then answering the loss of a three with a 1, 1, finish to wrap up the title.

The final of the women's equivalent was a hard-fought affair for 13 of the 15 ends with Alison Ross skipping Many O'Donnell, Hazel Crombie and Anne Watson into a 14-13 lead over Aimee Robertson, Irene Lindsay, Jean Darling and Sheila Smeal.

End 14 resulted in a space making four for Ross then she clinched the title with a single to win 19-13. Mandy O'Donnell and Anne Watson went on to make it a double title success in finals week when they teamed up with Anna Anderson (skip) to capture the Triples crown at the 15-8 expense of Alison McDougall, Dorothy Barclay and Isa Wilson.

Two promising schoolboys paraded their skills in the final of the Under-13 Singles and a transformation from 9-11 down saw Mark McIntosh produce the stronger finish to beat Andrew Brown 21-12.

The Pairs final for the same age group saw Cheryl Babtie and Neil Watson benefit greatly from a super 6 at the 10th end to go on and defeat Ryan Duffy and Craig Rennie 17-11.

Two high-profile names carried the day in the final of the Seniors Pairs, but only just, with Willie McIntosh and John Summers edging a 14-13 win over Alan Craig and Ian Ferrier.

Meanwhile, action at West Lothian IBC brought more glory for Neil Speirs and Calum Logan who linked up with Thomas Mann to capture the national qualifying Triples title.

The winning trio produced a 4, 1, 1, 1 finish to inflict a 13-8 defeat on Joey Strickland, Des Hagart and George Sneddon, who had started well to lead 5-1 then 8-6.
