WEST LOTHIAN bowlers launched their bid for the Scottish Under-25 League Cup with a 123-103 home victory over Stirlingshire in the opening section at Bo'ness.
Wins on four of the six rinks left team manager Colin Stein in a happy frame of mind, however he may ponder an alarming late collapse that saw the fifth pipped at the post, and a heavier 13-shot defeat on the sixth.

The wins were delivered by the rinks skipped by Glenn King, Kenny Miller, Cameron Greer and Calum Logan while Blair Mackie and Steven McCullagh were the losers.

The most telling phase of the match was the first with West Lothian going 45-28 in front.

King was at the forefront over the first seven ends with a 10-4 return and Cameron Greer carded a seven on the second end.

King skipped Craig Heath, Alan Patterson and Ewan Wilson to a 25-11 win. Miller was another double-figure winner, skipping Greg Baldry, Gary Callaghan and Mark McCullagh to a 28-15 triumph.
