Boxing: Steve Simmons living American dream

LEITH VICTORIA heavyweight Steve Simmons outpointed America's No.1 amateur heavyweight for a second time in a week in Des Moines, Iowa, today.

Simmons, who saw off Jordan Shimmel by 12-9, beamed: "He was two points up on me in the first round but I stormed back to beat him with loads of right hands. He was generous in his praise post-fight.

Now I'm looking forward to boxing against another USA team in London on 13 November. I hope to make it a hat-trick of victories this year over America's best heavyweights."
