UNBEATEN super-middleweight boxer Kenny Anderson is adamant that fighting twice inside a fortnight is just what he needs to accelerate his professional career towards a British 12-stone title shot next year.
Anderson will box on October 18, on a Paisley promotion bill switched from October 4, before following it up just 13 days later by fighting on October 31 at Birmingham on the undercard of the Frank Warren-promoted British welterweight title fight between champion Kell Brooks from Sheffield and Paisley's Kevin McIntyre.

Anderson said: "I will box six rounds at Paisley on Saturday, 18 October on my manager's show against a selected opponent. Then I will fight an eight-rounder at Birmingham on the Frank Warren bill on October 31st. Two fights in 13 days is the level of ring activity that I need as my pro career has, thus far, been stalled by cancellations and inactivity.

"By boxing and winning at both Paisley and Birmingham I aim to shoot myself up the British ratings.

I'm taking absolutely no chances with my prep for both October bouts as I'm heading down to Johnny Eames's gym in London this weekend to spar for two days – Friday and Saturday –with former British light-heavyweight champion, Tony Oakey."
