BRIGHTON and Hove Albion have re-signed Adam Virgo on a free transfer from Celtic.
The defender, who joined the Hoops three years ago for £1.5million, has signed a two-year deal with the Seagulls after failing to establish himself in Scotland.

Virgo, 25, had previously spent four years at the Withdean Stadium, and was handed his debut by Micky Adams in 2001.

He has since linked up with Adams again on loan at Coventry and Colchester – where Adams was assistant manager – but has now made a permanent return to the south coast.

Adams is once again at the helm at the Coca-Cola League One side, and Virgo said: "When I knew the club and Micky were interested, it was a very easy decision to make. There were other offers on the table, but at this stage of my career I need to be playing regular football and I feel I can achieve that with my hometown club."

Virgo cost the Hoops over £136,000 per start with just 11 appearances to his name during a disappointing spell in Scotland.

So he wasn't on £12,360 per match?

An obvious mistake by the author... I'm sure he meant £136,000 for the 11 starts.

Does anybody in the SPL earn that much per match?

No mistake Colin P:

1,500,000 divided by 11 = 136363

Sometimes bad signings are made by all clubs; if you don't believe me, ask Dick Advocaat or Mr Flo!

The key is to win the league. Pure and simple!

Roll-on 4-in-a-row.

Stinkgers FC, Scotlands shame.

He's only off the wage bill to make way for planned signing of Deco who surprisingly signed for Chelsea rather than sample the delights of the San Giro.

This lad did not have his troubles to seek.

He was injured shortly after he signed and missed the whole of pre-season.

He then had to cope with a most horrific domestic problem which would have destroyed many.

He got his way back into the side with a monumental effort and was indeed MOTM against Motherwell in the CIS cup semi final before being injured again.

I wish the lad all the best for the future and wish him a career in the job he loves.

Weir and Dailly get extended contracts in order to enter into the spirit of the new anti ageism legislation.......very public spirited.

Cherieo Virgo. Sorry mate, but you were useless! You never had a chance of getting into the Celtic team as a regular; pity you never signed for Rangers. They are full of mediocre players - you would have fit right in.

You club has signed Kenny Miller, arguably the worst striker ever to play in Scotland and yet you are slagging us because we haven't signed anyone, yet? Do you realise how stupid you look? Or do you simply see Kenny Miller as the pinicale of what your club can achieve?

Patience grasshopper...
