Samaras signs three-year deal at Celtic

CELTIC have completed the signing of striker Georgios Samaras from Manchester City.
The Greece international, who spent four months on loan at Parkhead last season, has signed a three-year contract with the champions.

He told www.celticfc.net: "I am really happy with this move and I think both sides are really happy."

Gabriel Tamas is also set to complete a £3.5million move to Celtic after the Parkhead club received permission to speak to the 24-year-old Auxerre and Romania defender.

Auxerre manager Jean Fernandez said: "If it all goes through then I will be delighted for Gabriel. He is a big, big player with huge ambitions in the game and Celtic are the right club to match them."

BRILLIANT business by Peter Lawwell yet again, what a signing the sharp suited man has been.

Gets shot of Miller for £3 Mill with a sell on clause that got us another 500k from SS and signs Samaras for 1/3 of that price......oytstanding.

Tamas would be icing on the cake.

This is the one signing I hoped we would make this summer. He scored a few goals last year, and hopefully he can repeat that. Guys like that aren't easy to find for the money that we've got.

Samaras is a good bit of business. I still like JVOH, but I think Samaras has more pace and skill. He'll win the starting job in a few months. Or Strachan sends JVoH to Italy.

Still think we need to sign a left back more than anything.

Why is Lawwell like the rig Safety Officer in that he always manages to be in every photograph whenever a camera is whipped out?
