ROBERT Thornton is expected to be fit to partner Voy Por Ustedes in the Ryanair Chase today despite being stood down for part of Wednesday's Cheltenham card. Thornton suffered a heavy fall from Big Zeb in the Seasons Holidays Queen Mother Champion Chase and after sustaining a nasty kick, he missed his final two rides of the day after being taken to hospital. His boss Alan King said: "He got a kick in the kidneys and they have taken him to hospital, but he looks like he is going to be OK.
Russell's 'anti-climax' at finishing runner-up

MILNATHORT-based trainer Lucinda Russell expressed disappointment at finishing only runner-up in the Coral Cup with Mirage Dore, as Ninetieth Minute scored for Ireland. "It's an anti-
climax to be second," said Russell of the 14-1 shot, who finished a length and a half behind the Paddy Flood-ridden winner. "He was further back than we'd planned and Rose (Dobbin] did very well to get so close in the end. Our plan nearly worked out and he'll probably go to Aintree now."
