WITH a cup semi-final to look forward to and with only pride to play for in the league, Queens could have been forgiven for having their minds elsewhere.
As it was the men from Dumfries comprehensively swept to victory ensuring Clyde remain firmly ensconced in a desperate fight for survival.

Queens dominated from the off against a truly awful Clyde team who would have been thankful at being only tw
o behind at the break. The visitors were off the mark after 29 minutes when Stephen Dobbie latched onto a through ball and showed composure and precision as he lashed home via the far post. Minutes later the game was all but over as the outstanding Steve Tosh rolled home from the spot after home keeper David Hutton inexplicably fouled Paul Burns.

Time and time again Clyde's square defence was caught out with a simple ball behind them with Dobbie and strike partner O'Connor causing all sorts of consternation. It was always a question of how many the Doonhamers would notch, and it was three just after the hour mark, Dobbie dancing past Hutton before claiming his 20th goal of the season.

Steven Masterton reduced the score with a penalty, but Clyde never looked like staging a comeback, and their misery was compounded on the brink of full time with yet more defensive ineptitude. Without a soul near him defender Dusan Bestvina, diverted Ryan McCann's centre into his own net.
