CARLTON Cricket Club second XI have been awarded league points from an East Division One match after opponents Freuchie 2s were judged to have fielded an inelegible player.
The original fixture, on April 26, saw the Fifers include last season's first-team captain, Alan Wallace.
Rejecting claims that the inclusion of Wallace, as well as top-team regular Steve Rowley, was due to a player shortage, an East Committee statement referred to "conduct detrimental to the game".
Freuchie won the controversial clash, with Wallace top scoring with 26 not out in a match-winning total of 78-5 while Rowley scored 11 and had bowling figures of 5-10 from a nine-over spell which included four maidens.
The statement added that Freuchie had received a "significant unfair advantage" but allowed the Fifers a fortnight to appeal to Cricket Scotland.
