RH CORSTORPHINE coach Kevin McLaren was a happy man on Saturday night after he led his side to victory over SMRH in the Capital cricket derby at Inverleith.
The visitors bowled out SMRH for just 122 runs in the SNCL Second Division match and then, despite losing early wickets, made it to their target with almost 22 overs to spare. McLaren, who took two wickets and top scored with 55 not out, said: "It was a pleasing victory, all the bowlers chipped in while Mark Cunningham (32] batted well with me to see us through."

As well as spinner McLaren, pro Ryan Reeves, young Paddy Saddler, Mark Allen and skipper Preston Mommsen all took two wickets.

They were then 15-3 at one point in reply, but McLaren saw them home.

In the same division, Edinburgh lost to Dunfermline by 40 runs while in the First Division Aberdeenshire beat Penicuik were beaten by 59.

In the Premier Division, Carlton's unbeaten start continued with a five-wicket win at Clydesdale, Bryn Lockie hitting 50. Grange lost to Ayr at home by two runs.
