SIR David Murray brought two decades of Rangers history to a close yesterday when he announced he is to step down as a director and as the chairman of the club.
Murray, who bought Rangers for £6 million in November 1988, will remain the majority shareholder for the time being at least, but the chairmanship and operational control will pass to 61-year-old Alastair Johnston, a director for the past five years.

The big question is will he now go back to his first love A*r after having to spend so many years at his second choice team.

Shoddy journalism, as #2 pointed out, Murray didn't appoint Souness.

Rangers are effectively in Administration.

The banks are calling the shots and making board room decisions.

The only thing missing is the points deduction - but that wont happen.

This is Scotland and they are Rangers...thats all that can be said.

If things are as bad as the Beverly hillbilly says we would be selling all and sundry at the club, but were not.
