AYR United manager Brian Reid is looking for his side to maintain their unbeaten league record at Somerset Park as they take on Airdrie United in the first leg of the First Division play-off final tonight.
He said: "I am very proud of the fact we have not lost a league game here all season and I want that to still be the case come the final whistle. We've been strong here in cup competitions as well, drawing with Kilmarnock in the Homecoming Scottish C
up and only losing 1-0 to Aberdeen in the League Cup." A draw tonight would keep Ayr's league record intact and also give them great hope for the second leg, with the manager explaining, "I would like to think that we have goals in us wherever we play."

Airdrie manager Kenny Black is aware that his side, who are bidding to preserve their First Division status after finishing second bottom, face a stern test tonight.

"To go undefeated at home for an entire season is an impressive feat no matter what league you are in," he said. "Ayr are a strong side, who almost won promotion via the league, so I would be delighted to leave Somerset Park with any kind of positive result."

Ayr miss Ryan Stevenson through suspension, but everyone else is available, while Airdrie have a doubt over Bobby Donnelly, who suffered a head-knock at the weekend.
