ALLOA manager Allan Maitland has jumped to the defence of match officials and praised Frank McDermott for his display in his side's 2-0 win over Clyde at the weekend.
Maitland said: "We are all criticising referees and I thought our referee on Saturday did really well. He tried to let the game flow as much as he possibly could."

Well said that man. About time somebody supported a ref in public.

".... praised Frank McDermott for his display...."

I'm sure Mr. McDermott did a decent job. Problem is, how often do you see Mr. McDermott in the middle of an SPL match?

When McCurry or Brines or Thomson or whichever other Old Firm fan in the middle puts in a competent, unbiased and objective display, I'll be the first to thank them.

Don't hold your breath waiting though.
