CHAMPIONS Cove Rangers brushed off island upstarts Shetland 6-2 in the North Region Challenge Cup despite succumbing to a spirited first half revival, writes Alasdair Fraser.
Shetland had bravely battled back from 3-0 down to 3-2

but Cove set up a semi-final against Deveronvale

when, after Kevin Webster's goal on the hour, Martin Johnston's second in 73 minutes made it five and David Smith notched a sixth.

Deveronvale came from behind to beat Buckie Thistle 2-1 in Banff. Steve Bruce put the Jags in front after 14 minutes but Scott Fraser levelled 12 minutes later. Grant Noble then hit the winner with six minutes left.

Inverurie Locos will face Fraserburgh in the other semi-final after beating non-league Golspie Sutherland 2-0.

Keith and Fraserburgh went to extra-time for the other semi-final spot, with Ryan Christie the Broch goalscoring hero.
