LIVINGSTON top the table for the first time this season and for the first time since winning this league back in 1996 after a 3-0 win at Montrose, with all the goals coming in the second-half after both sides had been reduced to ten men in the first 45 minutes.
Visiting on-loan Hearts full back Jonny Brown was first to go when he was dismissed for a foul on John Gemmell and the home side's Sean Anderson was then sent off after an altercation with Almondvale youngster Andrew Halliday.

Italian striker Raf
faele De Vita made it three goals in two games when he opened the scoring in 53 minutes, with Halliday netting ten minutes from time and substitute Marc McNulty scoring with his first touch to give the final scoreline an unjust look.

Livingston manager Gary Bollan was pleased for youngster Halliday after he took abuse from the Links Park crowd as a result of his part in the Anderson dismissal. "Andrew managed to rise above what was being shouted and got his reward with the second goal. We may well be top now but there is an awful long way to go yet," said Bollan.

Berwick jumped over Albion Rovers into second place after beating the Coatbridge side 2-0 thanks to a Paul Currie goal on 70 minutes when he volleyed home and a first in Berwick colours for former Hibs striker Damon Gray, who netted from the penalty spot after being fouled.

Berwick manager Jimmy Crease said: "We were solid at the back and that gave us a platform to build on. We got our reward for sticking at things after being denied by the woodwork earlier."

Rovers manager Paul Martin had no complaints, saying: "Berwick were better than us and deserved their win."

Annan surprised East Stirling with a 3-1 win at Ochilview, with the home side going ahead early through Stephen Maguire. Peter Watson headed in an equaliser before half-time with David Cox's second-half double taking all three points to Galabank.

Visiting manager Harry Cairney said: "Thankfully, we improved after half an hour as we were well out of things at that stage. We took our chances, so it has turned into a satisfying day."

Stranraer bounced back from their Scottish Cup defeat at Inverurie by defeating a faltering Forfar side 1-0 thanks to Michael Moore's second-half goal. "We dominated the game and it was a good way to get Inverurie out of our system," said Stranraer manager Keith Knox.

Forfar boss Dick Campbell added: "We got what we deserved, which was nothing. Stranraer were good but we were very poor."

At Hampden, Queen's Park were easily beaten 3-0 by Elgin with Craig Gunn running the show by scoring the opener after only five minutes and then setting up the second for Graham Tatters two minutes into the second- half. Craig Frizzell drilled in a third with on-loan St Mirren striker Paul Quinn dismissed for the home side late on.

Elgin manager Ross Jack said: "We could have had more as it was a great hard-working performance."
