Annan Athletic 0 Elgin City 2
ELGIN CITY moved to within a point of opponents Annan Athletic courtesy of a fortunate 2-0 win at Galabank.

Annan enjoyed the bulk of the first-half chances with David Cox seeing a fizzing low shot pushed behind for a corner.

Kevin Neilson almo
st gave Annan the lead ten minutes before the break but his shot on the turn flew agonisingly over.

And it was Elgin who made the breakthrough three minutes into the second half when David Niven powered home a header from Graham Tatter's corner.

The hosts had Paul Watson ordered off before Kyle Macauley made certain that Elgin would take the three points home when he slotted home in the 88th minute.

Berwick Rangers 1 Queen's Park 1

BERWICK RANGERS came from behind to salvage a disappointing 1-1 draw at home to Queen's Park.

Berwick's Graham Guy put into his own net in the seventh minute. The home side levelled five minutes later as Andrew McLean struck but a winner proved elusive.

East Stirling 2 Forfar Athletic 1

JIM McINALLY'S East Stirling climbed to third place after a hard-earned win against Forfar at Ochilview.

The lively Andy Rodgers put Shire ahead after only 13 minutes and former Celtic striker Simon Lynch doubled the hosts' lead shortly before the interval.

Substitute Kevin Gordon pulled one back for Forfar in the 74th minute, which made for a tense finale but East Stirling held on.

Montrose 1 Stranraer 1

MONTROSE are still looking for their first win of the season as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Stranraer.

Sean Anderson put the hosts ahead shortly after the break but Stranraer's Michael Moore quickly equalised to deny Steve Tweed's men a sorely needed win.

YESTERDAY'S match between Livingston and Albion Rovers was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.
