FORFAR and East Stirling emerged victorious from the matches involving the division's top four sides, with Livingston's lead at the top being cut to just two points after their 2-1 defeat by the Angus side at Almondvale
Stephen Tulloch diverted in a Martyn Fotheringham free-kick right at the death to inflict Livingston's first home defeat of the season after Graham Gibson and Andrew Halliday had exchanged first-half goals.
Forfar manager Dick Campbell said: "We c
onceded a late goal to Albion Rovers last week, so it was nice to get one ourselves this time out."
His Livingston counterpart, Gary Bollan, said: "We had plenty of pressure, but we did not create enough chances."
East Stirling's 1-0 win at Berwick Rangers saw them jump into second place at the expense of their hosts, with Simon Lynch's second-half goal securing all three points.
Their manager, Jim McInally, said: "That was a big result for us. Berwick have a great home record, but I thought we deserved to win the game."
It was Berwick's first league defeat in six games, and manager Jimmy Crease said: "We blew a big chance to make inroads on Livingston but we'll come back."
Albion Rovers were held 1-1 by Elgin City at Cliftonhill, where Kyle McAulay scored at both ends. McAulay had put Elgin ahead, but with just ten minutes to go he deflected a Pat Walker shot into his own net.
Stranraer's Kevin Nicholl cancelled out Martin McBride's opener for 'Queen's Park's as the sides drew 1-1 at Stair Park with the game being delayed for a short time due to floodlight failure.
Montrose drew 0-0 with an Annan Athletic side that finished the game the stronger with both sides hitting the woodwork in the 90 minutes.
