DUNDEE United manager Craig Levein has described claims that Hearts will make an approach for his services as "a bit of a pain".
Hearts are reported to be ready to turn to their former boss after Mark McGhee decided to remain with Motherwell.

But Levein said today: "I know nothing about it. It's a bit of a pain really.

"I am happy here at Tannadice and I'm enjoying my job."

Hearts were close to securing the services of McGhee but he changed his mind as he was about to board a flight for Lithuania on Monday and instead agreed an improved contract at Fir Park.

Levein met Romanov while he was still Hearts manager and before Romanov took over. Almost immediately and out of nowhere he suddenly wanted to manage in the Championship. There's no chance of him working for the lunatic. He's far too good for management by fax machine.

5 Get a grip Levein had already agreed to manage Leicester, I seem to remember he was trebling his wage too, and was up to no good with some other bird as well.

#10, Slavin Bilic? He's way out of Hearts' league! Might be earning a pittance at the moment, but if you think Hearts have any hope in hell of getting someone of that calibre then you must be joking. Robbo will take it, offer it to him.

I think you'll find he finds the press asking him about Hearts a pain, seeing as the club have made no official approach. But if he had no job, of course he'd love the attention. We should never have let Levein go, although there were a lot of things behind his desire to get out of Scotland at the time.

Number 5 - Newcastle Jambo....Levein said his heart wasn't in the job at Hearts 18 months prior to him leaving for Leicester, so stop slavering nonsense.

#20 Yeah, not only was Craig having personal strife, with the tabloids somehow imagining we'd all be interested in it too, but he'd got embroiled in a massive fight with the SFA and Hearts were in even more doo-doo than they are now, with the Romanov takeover not definite by the time he'd decided to leave.

Objectivity and Romanov are words which should possibly not be used in the same sentence. I'd suggest a typo on your part.

NJ isn't even a Jambo. He's been posting on here for years under a different name (one of THOSE idiots we all know about) and "comes out" as NJ once in a while. I remember him from the old BBC message board days and he has not changed. Posts under the pretence that he's an unhappy Jambo but he is only out to dig. Pretty sad really.

Levein couldn't hack it at Leicester, was given the P45 and dispatched back up north with his tail between his legs.

Sometimes in football, others have different views than yours. Sometimes you'll just have to let them get on with it and respect them.

It's what happens in a democracy mate, you just have to get on with it. They might be right, you might be right. With Romanow however, we might never know.

Exactly what damage has Vlad done??

He has taken the club, who would occasionally challenge for honours in the Scottish cup, who finnished 3rd in the leauge every season or so, and turned them into much of a muchness?? Hardly damaged the club.

What he did do was blow everyones expectations clean out the water. Hence people having a go for reason 1,2,3,4,5.

KeithD,

For every Jambo who keep's backing Romanov there are thousands who'll not give in to his ways.A potential 40000 fan base is waiting for Mad Vlad to stop all his interference with team selection, until then you'll be getting a basic 10000-15000 fan base. It's the potential of competing with the likes of the old firm and qualifying for the Champions league that every Jambo wants. You know the things that Vlad promised us when he took over!!

So what are the HMFC going to do to find a boss, tap every manager in the SPL and keep getting the same answer.

Check the MOTY from Hamilton, he might be interested.

If Craig Levein finds all the speculation about him being linked to the Hearts job "a bit of a pain" surely all he has to do is come out and say there is absolutely, definitely no way he would ever consider returning to Tynecastle as Hearts manager. Has he done that? No (not that I'm aware of!) Will he say it? I doubt it!
So the speculation will continue until he, or someone else, is appointed to the position

#50 I'll reiterate what I said "A POTENTIAL" fan base of 40000 is waiting for Mad Vlad to stop his interfering. We the majority of Hearts supporters are waiting in the wings for our football club to become what was promised.Just because you go to the games and waste your money on watching garbage doesn't make you more of a Jambo than the ones who'll not give Vlad any money.I will go back to Tynie like I did before the Burley/Pressley/Brellier/Hartley/Rudi/Gordon etc saga when I see that Romanov is changing his ways.We have the potential for being another Zenit of St.Petersburg if Vlad will just stop interfering.Yes we have a core support just now of 16000 fans but that's not going to get us anywhere near Celtic and Rangers or Europe for long spells. We need the majority of that 40000 fan base as well as the minority (16000) of Hearts supporters.
