EDINBURGH CAPITALS today invited families to join them for the Great Skate at Murrayfield Ice Rink on Tuesday, 29 December.
Scotland's top ice hockey team will be on hand to show youngsters how to shoot and to improve their skating.

Then, the day concludes with an Elite League clash with Capitals' arch-rivals, Newcastle Vipers at 6pm.

It all starts at 10am with the skating session and Doug Christiansen, Capitals' director of hockey, is hoping to see 2,000 people involved on the day.

Tickets are £12 for adults and £7 for children and include the match ticket, skating session and skate hire.

They can be bought online at www.edinburgh-capitals.com/greatcapitalskate.php and are available now.

It's the second year of the event and Christiansen said: "We're hoping this event will encourage people to get active through skating and also introduce them to the game of ice hockey."
