EDINBURGH have put themselves in contention for a £10,000 windfall as the Celtic League rugby season nears its conclusion.
And next stop on the quest for a prize designated to assist youth development work comes on Saturday afternoon (2.30pm) when Newport Gwent Dragons are faced at Murrayfield.

Edinburgh are pressing Llanelli Scarlets in the Specsavers Fairplay table.
Scarlets' tally of three yellow cards is just one better than the Scots. Additionally Scarlets have three games to play compared with Edinburgh's two.

While delighted with the stats Edinburgh coach Andy Robinson refuses to issue a "best behaviour" edict though he admits that, with next season's budget frozen, there is much that can be done with a five-figure sum.

"Our discipline has been better and we were giving away fewer penalties, " said Robinson. "That stems from better understanding of game matters."

The message from Robinson is that clearer heads regarding a game-plan mean less indiscipline.

He added: "Sometimes it can mean you are soft but I like to think our improved discipline is down to improved understanding. Whatever, it is a great prize on offer."

A victory on Saturday would give Edinburgh a Scottish record of seven home wins on the trot.
