CELTIC'S hopes of landing Marc-Antoine Fortune have been given a lift after Hull manager Phil Brown admitted he may have to pursue other targets if a deal cannot be concluded for the striker in the next two days.
Fortune, who is contracted to Nancy but impressed on loan at West Brom last season under new Celtic manager Tony Mowbray, has agreed terms with Hull and the clubs have settled on a fee, but the player is yet to commit.

The 27-year-old was thought to be edging towards Hull after also receiving interest from Celtic, but West Ham are now said to have joined the race. Brown said: "It hasn't moved forward in the last 48 hours.

"He has an offer from us and an offer from Celtic and someone has said something about West Ham. That is news to us, but, if so, so be it. We are now in a three-horse race as opposed to a two-horse race. We are confident we are still in the pole position, but these things are always a concern when they are not done and dusted. If there is not a decision in the next 24 or 48 hours we are going to have to move on to other players."

Hull are also hoping to secure a club-record deal for Manchester United forward Fraizer Campbell following his return from the European Under-21 Championship in Sweden.

I hope he does go to West Ham.

If so, it will be a narrow escape for Celtic.

He's a 'striker' who doesn't score many goals, as his stats show.

He should fit right in at Parkhead.

When it comes to players signing for RFC in WS we trust. He has done a decent job over the last couple of seasons bring in players, and winning silverware.

We really cant afford to make the big splash in the transfer market as the tic have done due to our financial restraints. But we also dont have qualifiers in 4 weeks which does give us a bit of a cushion, signing wise.

I certainly hope Celtic 'miss out on another target'. Yes, Fletcher and Fortune - two strikers who don't really score that many goals. Just what every team needs......even if they already have a trio of miss-firing strikers.
