CRAIG Levein wants to remain at Dundee United for the foreseeable future after rejecting the advances of Watford.
The Coca-Cola Championship strugglers made an approach with a view to recruiting the United manager as replacement for the dismissed Adrian Boothroyd.

However, Levein is enjoying life at Tannadice after recently leading United on a ten-match unbe
aten run.

"Watford came in at the weekend and made an enquiry," said Levein. "It's a big job, but I wasn't the slightest bit interested.

"No disrespect to Watford, but I won't be leaving United unless I get the boot or something really attractive comes up."

Levein left Hearts to manage at Leicester in 2004, but he revealed his main motivation was to escape the "turmoil" over the club's ownership and financial problems.

"I'm still a hugely ambitious person and want to manage at the top level," he added. "But I like it here and I'm happy, which is a big thing for me."

• Hamilton striker Mark Corcoran will see a specialist in a bid to get to the bottom of his hip problem. Corcoran, who turns 28 at the end of the month, has missed Accies' last two games and will also sit out tomorrow's Premier League trip to Dundee United.

Levein is the best manager in the SPL apart from Walter Smith.

The difference is, Walter has always had money to throw around on player and Levein had worked wonders on a shoe string budget. Apart from his spell at Leicester he's worked wonders at Utd and Hearts.
Finishing 3rd 3 times out of 5 and giving Hearts a decent Uefa cup run whilst cutting the wage bill each year.

4 'Apart from his spell at Leicester '

Yes lets forget about his abysmal spell at Leicester where he threw lots of money around, bought utter tosh and failed to make any kind of positive impact. This being his biggest and most important role I believe it is the one where you truly get the measure of him as a manager. He is a 2nd rate no hoper.

He wasn't giving a far crack at the wip.

"where he threw lots of money around"

What do you mean he wasn’t given a fair crack at the whip. His record was appalling!

If you look at things in perspective yes he did. He spent a fortune compared to other championship clubs and if memory serves me correctly I believe Leister were the second biggest spenders in the league that season. Put that in your wee maroon pipe and smoke it.

Fair enough he did a fair crack at the wip nearly a season and a bit hold my hands up to that.

But he did not spend a great deal on players most of which where free transfers and he sold just as many as he bought.

#7 - you have outed yourself as a buffoon with your almost complete lack of knowledge of Levein's time at Leicester. Be a good lad and let yourself out.
