Cup draws throw up some cracking ties

FIRST-ROUND ties in the Scottish Amateur Cup are set to take place on Saturday, September 17. SAFA has issued the following ties involving teams from the East of Scotland. Amazingly, Liberton Royal Mail were the last team from the Lothian and Edinburgh AFA to win the Scottish Cup – in 1999.

LINKS United won the East of Scotland Amateur Cup last season, beating Slammanan 1-0 in the final at Almondvale, with Ryan Dignan the scorer of the goal.

First-round ties this season kick off on Saturday, October 25, and Links are the visitors at Pilrig Park to play Redpath Albion.
