Danish striker gets chance to win loan deal with Hearts

HEARTS will consider a loan deal for Danish trialist Mike Tullberg if he impresses during the remainder of their German tour. The player still has three years remaining on his contract with the Italian side Reggina having cost £850,000 from Aarhus last year.

Tullberg played the final 20 minutes of last night's 1-0 defeat by Kaiserslautern in Marburg in front of Hearts' majority shareholder Vladimir Romanov. He is keen to move to Scotland after just seven Serie A appearances for Reggina. Manager Csaba Laszlo was happy with the Dane's contribution and hopes to assess him again on Tuesday against SV Wehen Wiesbaden.

Reggina intend to recoup some, if not all, of their investment on Tullberg but Hearts would prefer an initial loan agreement if they decide the striker meets their requirements.

"He is definitely not free. A loan is one option but he has three years left on his contract," said Ivan Marco Benes, the player's agent. "He is 22 and he feels his style would suit the football in Scotland. He is still a very hungry player because things didn't really work out for him in Italy. Reggina paid E1.1m for him last year but soon after he signed the manager was sacked. In total he played seven times but didn't score any goals. He still has a lot to offer."

Tullberg looked lively during his brief outing against Kaiserslautern as Hearts fell to an Erik Jendrisek goal seconds before half-time. Laszlo revealed he sustained a minor injury but should be fit for Hearts' final tour match on Tuesday. "At the moment, he has a small injury but I hope he will be okay in one or two days," said the Hungarian.

Meanwhile, Bulgarian side Levski Sofia are monitoring out-of-favour Hearts goalkeeper Anthony Basso. The Frenchman did not travel to Germany after being disciplined by Laszlo and is currently attracting interest from First Division Livingston, who have approached Tynecastle officials with a loan offer for the player.

However, Levski Sofia are currently searching for a new keeper and have been made aware of Basso's situation.

from the look on his face i reckon he's genuinely surprised to find himself on the ball and is far too eager to impress...

we need strikers who can deliver goals on a regular basis. a really good scoring rate is normally about a goal every 2 games. we so do not need another lump who never scores and is injury prone into the bargain.

we are well covered right now for headless chickens who don't know where the net is. mole, makela and elliot all fit the bill.

can't comment on the danish boy yet, based on about 20 mins in a friendly. by all means bring in a jankauskas style striker but we need a scorer along side him.

I'm glad to see Csaba taking his time to see if the player suits Hearts - is his personality right? Is he hungry for success? Will he fit in at the club? This careful and organised approach has been sorely lacking in the past two years and, if as well as talking a good game, he can translate this focus onto the football pitch, we could be in for a good season. I'm not talking about challenging the big two, but a season with more ups than downs, where the team gives us plenty to cheer. Rock the Csaba.

Don't be to previous
Maybe Laslo will get them in shape and teach them how to play as a team.
Lets face it he not Stevie and talks a good game lets see how it fairs before we all jump down his throat.
Good young players don't turn into bad young players overnight.
Think we miss Mcglyyn more than a lot of people realise

quite fancy the open training day next saturday, be nice to take the kids to tynecastle with out them being subjected to the vile and foul language being shouted from the terraces(admittedly usually from my own mouth but who could blame me last season ;-) ). All this openness has got me a tad paranoid though, is this just a smokescreen to lull us in to a false sense of security by the master of deception, or have we turned a huge corner and actualy operating like a normal club?!! Thoughts please(not from you plumdit as you know plums and its fook all to do with you)
24

ChelseaJamtart,

26/07/2008 19:39:47
24 Just empaphises all the really good positive side to the club which on the most part are completely ignored outside of Tynecastle, and the negatives blown up way too much by the goon element, but we are a family club for the community and Jambos far across the globe i'm hoping Romanov has learned his lessons. No point in being "us against the world" attitude as it's more harmfull than good roll on the new season though Murderwell won't know what's hit them.
25

smithy1874,

I also hope he has saw the error in his ways. The only reason im fearful, not sceptical, is that every other summer he has given us false promises in order to boost season ticket sales. I do believe we are entering a new revolution with Csaba, all we need is to sort out a strike force and bring on the new season!

Riley have you ever considered the idea that even wthout the help of posters on this site most of your posts would be deleted?

Chances are when all you do is dish out purile and disjointed gibberish all day the fellas at the Hootsman see you and just automatically remove your posts.

I mean it's not like anyone is missing out on anything by not reading them so why is it a white flag? I personally think they should leave your inane, meandering, and frankly juvenile posts alone. If for no other reason than to give peple the chance to read, digest, and disect them for themselves...

THat way everyone will know what a complete felcher you are an you wont need to waste your 'valuable' time posting bout the fact all your posts get removed...

csaba claims players from the old firm aint lazy!!!

does that take players like gravesen and boyd into consideration? a high percentage of footballers are lazy not just at hearts becuase of the financial rewards in the game-period.

I was impressed with andy mcneils effort during the farcelona friendly though at hearts training ground. to keep showing that enthusiasim after 6 was commendable.
