Hearts deal in Goncalves to profit from future move

Published Date: 05 July 2008
HEARTS last night re-signed Jose Goncalves on a new two-year deal to ensure they maximise their profit from the player's possible departure to Nuremberg in 12 months' time.
The former Portuguese Under-21 cap has put pen to paper on fresh terms with the Gorgie outfit just 24 hours after agreeing a season-long loan deal with the German First Division club.

A fee has been agreed with Nuremberg should they wish to make t
he transfer of Goncalves permanent at the end of next season.

Prior to signing fresh terms, the defender would have been able to sign for the Germans on a Bosman next summer as his previous contract expires in a year's time. However, shrewd Hearts officials have ensured they will stand to make money from any future transfer.

Goncalves, who joined Hearts in January 2006 from FC Thun for a reputed £300,000, was the subject of a failed £1.3million bid from Spanish side Celta Vigo last summer.

Hearts have refused to divulge the finer details of Goncalves' move but are likely to be looking to recoup close to £1m if Nuremberg want to sign him on permanent terms.

Hearts negotiated a similar deal with West Brom last season when they allowed Roman Bednar to join the Baggies on loan. Tony Mowbray's side recently invoked a clause to buy the Czech striker for £2.3m

Meanwhile, Laryea Kingston insists the Hearts players will give their full backing to whoever the club's majority shareholder Vladimir Romanov installs as manager.

"It is up to Mr Romanov to decide who he wants to bring in," the midfielder said.

"He is the boss but we are ready to play for whoever that may be."

Gone to Tuscany for weekend but sadly wanted to see if new manager had been announced in todays Scotsman. However, at heart, just another story surrounding Hearts and money.

Because we are so used to it, it is a step to think that some club owners really own the club because they feel for their club and not for money alone.

Given Romanov tried to get into Scottish football before Hearts, it is evident that his passion is for business and not Hearts that got him to be our owner. Reminding ourselves of this very basic, should let us see his current actions for what they are, not for what we would ideally want them to be.

You idiotic Hibs fans mock anything - even a shrewd move that stands to make us money! Clowns of the highest order, so you are. You are truly obsessed with us, whilst I (and all the the Jambos I know) could not care less about your pathetic little club!

Good move to sign him up in order to ensure a fee when he leaves otherwise would have been daft to send him out on loan for a season then lose him for zilch.

said this yesterday that this is a rare example of good business acumen from the crazy one, perhaps not for us should jose not be signed to us, perhaps only for vlad or kaunas.

unlike #9 up there i'm not going to make factual statements about it without being in full receipt of the facts.

it's not really a surprise that there are a couple of squawking fools straight on to take the p***, regardless of it being a rare positive article. the hearts articles have become the venue for a ritual gathering of halfwits and trouble makers. the content of the article matters very little, in fact it sometimes is clear that certain people don't even bother to read and/or try to understand the actual article before steaming in with their latest infantile observations.

anyway, maybe german football will suit jose better. he certainly never looked the full shilling at hearts but he did have great pace, athleticism and strength. still a bombscare though.

good luck gonc.

morning vic, it is the maniac element that bring the comments section down to way below infancy level. Banter is good and always funny to laugh at hibs but some of the comments are pure hate filled venomous nonsense.
Still if you think of countries like Turkey and others like it full of bams then a couple of thousand balloon hobos is not so bad.
hang on i forgot about the OF soapdodgers, scrap that last comment.

Does he know something about the future we dont know?

#33 Biley - Not sunning yourself on your yacht? How's the business empire coming along? Or what about the "burdz"?

Judging from your "Bebo", you're doing well for a Lady Boy, eh Mu Cha-Cha?

But seroiusly, I'd still like to hear your answer to Roscoe's message the other day. Just in case you've "overlooked" it, this is what Roscoe asked you...

"I'm all for free speech but rights also come with responsibilities, and one of the responsibilities should be to act like a decent human being rather than just berate everybody and suggest e.g that people report your posts because they don't agree with your point, when often your point is lost amongst the ramblings and insults.

Also, the rules of the forum clearly state that you're not allowed to indulge in certain behaviour, and that includes spending months slagging people off. If you break the rules, no matter whether your point is valid, your post will be removed eventually.

Had you thought that if you laid off the insults, 'crazy' nicknames and rambling, maybe your posts wouldn't get removed so often?"

Go on, Biley, we're waiting for your response...

#39 Same old rubbish, BILEY.

Now, what are the REAL reasons for your refusal to address Roscoe's comments?

Could it be you're just a liar? That you've no integrity or credibility? Or have you lacked a father-figure in your life?

You refer to "tactics". What are these "tactics" designed to achieve? The closure of these forums? Why is that your aim?

One of your favourite red herrings is to claim "freedom of speech" for you and the rest of your Bebo team.

How hypocritical of you: your "tactics" are clearly aimed at reducing these forums to a shambles or even force their closure.

"Freedom of speech"? You're full of sh*te, BILEY.

#43 I suspect you don't have a father, BILEY.

But just you keep on thinking I'm "frustrated" by your refusal to come clean - it clearly gives you some perverse satisfaction.

The rest of us will just safely assume you don't answer any questions because you're a fraud and a liar whose self-appointed "mission" is to wreck these forums...

Yet another reasoned, intelligent, eloquent series of posts from the Scotsman's resident cave-dweller....

And with every post he loses a bit more of the tiniest bit of credibility he has left. For around five minutes last week the vestiges of humanity went on show, but now....

Funny how he's always got an excuse not to answer questions, if he bothers to respond to them at all, eh muchachos?

Of course I'm not suggesting for one second that he's perhaps talking out of his ar$e. You can take the boy out of Motherwell, but you can't remove the inherent schemieness from Riley............

#47 Cheers, Roscoe. I doubt I could have composed a better riposte myself.

You may have noticed I've been encouraging BILEY to respond to your remarks I quoted in #34 above.

They seem to me to very adequately sum up his behaviour. But still no serious reply. Why is this, do you think..?
