HEARTS interim head coach Stevie Frail admits injured winger Neil McCann will have to sit down with the club's money-men to find out if he has a future at Tynecastle.
The experienced former Scotland internationalist will not play again this season after having a metal plate, which was inserted following his leg break against Celtic in August, removed in an operation at the weekend. McCann's second spell with Heart
s has been plagued by injury and he has featured in just three matches this term. That may count against the 33-year-old when the Hearts hierarchy discuss whether the player should be handed an extension to his current deal, which expires this summer.
Hearts majority shareholder Vladimir Romanov has the final say when it comes to contracts.
Frail said: "He will have to sit down with the people that deal with contracts and stuff. I will make my recommendations on him as well, but we will get him fit first, and there will be other wee roles he can help fill at the club."
Hearts, meanwhile, could be without striker Calum Elliot for Saturday's clash with Dundee United after the youngster was forced to pull out of last night's Scotland Under-21 clash against Finland with a virus.
On a positive note for Frail, striker Christian Nade is set to return after missing the last two games with a groin problem.
