THE Scottish Football League today revealed the transfer embargo placed on Livingston Football Club is still in place despite club chairman Pearse Flynn assuring fans that the matter had been settled.
Flynn told supporters at a special meeting in the town two weeks ago that a fee had been agreed with the "footballing authorities" and that a deal would be struck in time for Lions boss Mark Proctor to make signings.
The embargo was placed on the club after French defender Emanuel Dorado was sacked for refusing to take a pay cut when the West Lothian club were relegated from the SPL two years ago
Dorado has now taken his case to FIFA for full payment of his contract.
Livingston appealed the embargo four times, losing on each occasion and FIFA could now place sanctions on the Scottish Football Association for failing to resolve the matter since Livingston were originally found to be in the wrong way back in 2006.
A spokesman for the SFL said: "We have not been notified that the contract has been settled.
"There has been nothing to allow us to lift the current embargo and certainly nothing to suggest to the management committee that they should look again at lifting the current ban."
