HEARTS expect Friday's player wages to hit bank accounts today, after the second delay in their payment this season.
The Tynecastle playing staff did not receive their weekly wage as planned three days ago; the club insisting immediately that the payments were on the way from the Lithuania-based Ukio Bankas Investment Group and would be in accounts today. Last nigh
t, a senior club official reiterated that stance, saying he foresees no further complications.

In September, when salaries were not paid, it took a week to resolve the situation. There will, say Hearts, be no such delay this time around. The Hearts captain Christophe Berra, who excelled in Saturday's 2-1 defeat of Rangers, has stressed he and his team-mates took little heed of the wage issue.

"I think it proves what kind of squad we have got," said Berra when asked if a lack of payment could have had an impact on team spirit before Rangers' visit. "We are all professionals, we go out on a Saturday and want to win.

"If there are players who came here with that on their minds, they are the type of players you don't want. Luckily we don't have players like that. When you cross the line, you are professional and want to do the best at your job. I think we did that on Saturday."

On the specifics of the delay, the Scotland international added: "The money is obviously there, it was being processed on Friday but it is the end of the month, a lot of different people are being paid and the bank didn't have enough time to process it.

"We have been assured the money will be there on Monday morning. It is not a concern; we will enjoy our victory.

"I trust the people I speak to at the club and we trust the owner (Vladimir Romanov]."

Berra said he is in no rush to depart Hearts, despite speculation linking him with a January move to Wolverhampton Wanderers or Fulham. "I am not for a minute saying I want to leave this club," said the 23-year-old. "I have been here for a long time and am enjoying working with the new manager."

Meanwhile, Rangers skipper Barry Ferguson admits he is still a few weeks away from being back to his best as he bids to put his injury woes behind him. The midfielder, 30, has started the last four games after recovering from ankle surgery in the summer.

"I've got another few games yet before getting up to speed with the other boys," he said. "I've had a few starts and I've still got a way to go. In pre-season, you usually play about eight games. I've had four starts now and, in another couple of weeks, that will be me."

Kris Boyd has revealed he almost quit Rangers in the summer. The striker admitted his omission from key matches last season led to him considering his options. But Boyd – Rangers' top scorer this term with 13 goals – concluded he simply could not walk away.

"I thought maybe my time was up and I'd have to move on," he said. "I thought about it over the summer, but decided to give it another shot. I didn't want to walk away and give up on the club I love as easy as that."

Yet another bad day at the office for Rangers. This result would not, in itself, have had a major impact on their title aspirations had they not dropped so many silly points in recent weeks against Motherwell and Dundee Utd.
Meanwhile Celtic continue to do what propsective champions tend to do - grind out victories from the odd goal when a draw looks the more likely, or deserved, result.
The only positive I can take is that this is the time of year when Smith's teams usually kick into top gear and put the points on the board that win the League....but there's precious little sign of that right now.

Shame on you Scotsman, open the thread with the game report, they deserve it.

No need to tell me to GTF, I know we aren’t welcome, and with that I’m gone.

2 - Cally, I think this is a valid story considering that the players have not yet been paid and Hearts' financial health is a constant concern, even when there isn't a credit crunch ongoing...!

Fair dues to the Jambos, they're playing as well as they have in a long time. Shame they didn't turn up against Celtic!

Watched the game on setanta. The ref was an utter disgrace, whittaker goes in with his studs in the air -sent off no,not even booked.boyd stuck his elbow into god knows how many jambo's eventually gets booked then does it all over again and the ref ignores it.
Wallace a couple of dodgy yellow's and he's off,biased bast@rd.

Rangers got several yellow cards. Wallace was foolish enough to commit two blatant yellow card fouls. The ref got it right. Indeed Celtic fans' beloved Graham Spiers said the ref had "an excellent game".

Hearts deserved their win and Rangers were poor. But the likely return of Davis, Papac and Miller for the next game would mean three improvements to the team.

You say yourself Rangers should be worried because Hearts are 'only' 7 points behind them, likewise Rangers are only 7 points behind Celtic.

Well done Hearts you played better football, had a torrid time with bad fouls and messed up ref, down to 10 men and kept it 2-1 well done.

Only 7 points and you have a CL place next season, if that happens WS is off and so is Sir DM. Although the season has a long way to go January should be very interesting, and after Rangers goal yesterday all you could hear was the famine song, shame.

Your right Harry It was bit of a rant. But given that I only see a few games a yearin OZ on setanta involving the jt's cause the ugly sisters are on most weeks.I felt it neccessary to vent my frustration at the biased treatment handed out to hearts ( and all other teams outside of glasgow) by a totally sub standard ref.
From the other comments I have read it seems he is an ardent fan of your own club so I had hoped he would have no great love of rangers.I was not being negative or bitter re the win any win against the darkside is positive but some of the decisions were appaling in their bias.
Yes Wallace picked up two yellow's and had to go but compared to some of the fouls commited by rangers, many of which did not even warrant a booking in the ref's opinion, were far more serious and action should have been taken,in particular the tackles involving going in with the studs raised.Any where else in the world thats a red card no question.

Any way not the best game I have ever seen but great committment and effort from the whole hearts team.

Best of luck to the hobo's this Sun.SIRUT

They will now feel secure in the knowledge that their midfield maestro is back and will right all the wrongs that have taken place during his forced absence.

Mind you,I`m not sure that Pedro Pedromendes will agree with the Rearrangerz fanz on that one.
32

Helter Skelter,

01/12/2008 09:16:40
Lee Wallace was intent on getting himself sent off although his reasons for doing that we can only speculate about. I can sort of understand a player behaving like that when their team is on the wrong end of a hammering , and the red mist comes down towards the end of the game...but to do that when you're team are ahead and looking good for three points with 15 minutes to go ....if I was Laszlo, I'd be asking myself what this guy's all about.

That however doesn't altar the fact that quite a number of rearrangerz playerz were equally deserving of a mixture of second yellows ( whittaker, Boyd ) and straight reds (bougherra, novo and weir).

Rerrangerz were saved from a massacre by the referee in this respect and Smith would have had problems trying to field a team next weekend.

The Champions dug out the three points and have now had their longest run of consecutive wins since 2003/04 ...it's looking very good for 4 in a row, and strachan will make sure everyone's feet remain firmly on the ground meantime.

That's a good point ...there could be something in this for Celtic...if this isn't sorted within the next 24 hours, players' agents will be ringing round clubs to see who's interested, and champions celtic should get first refusal on the best of what the jambos have to offer : Berra and Driver.

I'm not that interested in Driver as I don't think he would add anything new to our squad, but to pick Berra up for hee-haw would be the business. He looks a great prospect and would be delighted to see him at Celtic, fighting for a place...we'd get to see the very best of him.

And who is the buyer you may ask.

WeLl actually its us,the taxpayer, that means all of us.

HBOS,Rerrangerz banker,is about to be rescued from oblivion by the taxpayer when it merges with Lloyds TSB.

We the taxpayer will rescue Rearrangerz and their bankers to the tune of £17 billion(17,000,000,000).

I still think Sno has it in him to be a great player. He couldn't cut it at Celtic and it was a great bit of business to sell him for £1m and let someone else have a go at bringing him on as I don't think Celtic could do any more.

But some players toil during the early years and suddenly turn the corner and everything clicks, and even though I was glad to get the money for Sno and let him go, it crossed my mind that we might come to regret it.

As a player, I thought the problems with his game could be ironed out , and if that were achieved, you'd have a top quality player.

It seems more and more likely that Hearts will need to conduct a fire-sale in January to keep the club afloat.

Campbell Ogilvie said last week that the plan was to reduce the wages:turnover ratio to 50% (there's a LONG way to go on that front), and this latest delay in paying wages suggests cash flow issues.

So, while Jambos are right to be delighted at this win, it could be the high point of the season. The squad is about to take a big hit.

I think i need to get my eyes tested as i cant seem to find BTO (the serial bigot waffler) on these threads, if i can remember back to last week he was on here giving it the 0-4 predictions constantly!

Good team display by the jambo's and at least the rankers players didnt get cold on saturday as we had them in our pockets the whole game and ole backstabber had to resort to HOOF HOOF HOOFBALL. Yes we have only been winning our recent games by one goal margins but correct me if im wrong did AC Milan not build their entire success by doing the same (before i get it tight i am in no way saying hearts are as good as milan but just pointing out that play pretty or play ugly 3 points is 3 points).

When Sno first came into the Celtic first 11, I think most Celtic fans were very enthused.
After a while, it became apparent that he was prone to giving the ball away through unforced errors in the middle of the park.

Celtic play with a high backline, and that kind of loss of possession puts us under enormouse pressure : one second we're comfortable , the next, it's backs to the wall as the backline are racing back, back to goal, trying to hold off onrushing opponents.

Sno faded in and out of the side, but whenever he got a run, he was still guilty of these unforced errors time and time again in the middle of the park.

Mabey his strengths lie as a striker, but he'd have had a long wait at Celtic to get a regular place up front.

Demand note;

1)Davie-boy remains as a figurehead.

2)"Walter Combustable" remains as 1st manager.

3)JesterCoist to remain as 2nd choice, with a condition that he reverts back to wearing shorts whilst attending games, as he looks too much like an adult while donning full length trackie bootomz,as he did at Saturdays shambles against Hearts.

4)Rearrangerz to give us all our money back ASAP.

5)No new signings by Rearrangerz, till we the taxpayers and rescuers of Rearrangerz Football Club, give our tacit approval.

6)Davie-boy to provide financial updates to be made public on a fortnightly basis,or to a timetable set by the taxpayers of England,Scotland,Wales and not forgetting Ireland.

I don't think minty had any choice but to dig into his pocket ...rearrangerz stood at the very edge of bankruptcy and he was the one who took them there after years of spending collosal amounts of money that that the club didn't have.

You could blame the rearrangerz fanz ...there were no questions asked about where the money was coming from as minty wrote multi-million cheque after multi-million cheque.
No rearrangerz fanz, so far as I could tell, were asking any questions or expressing any concern at all.

Next thing rearrangerz were £80m in the red , and minty had no choice.

#62 Talk o the toun

Hearts were running a wage:turnover ratio above 100%. Fair enough, the wage level is likely to have fallen over the past year or so, but then so has turnover (with no European football and declining gates). Therefore, there is no chance the current ratio is anywhere near 50%.

If Hearts are serious about getting to this level, it means making cuts in the squad.

Celtic just need to keep things at a simmer between now and the 27th...just knuckling down and taking three points from every match starting at easter road this weekend.

Our injury crisis is beginning to ease up, and we'll see Jan and Crosas back soon and Sami back to full fitness any time soon.

When we go to the dark star, we'll be going for the win off-course, but a draw will suit us, and that gives Strachan a lot more options and makes rearrangerz very predictable...it also means that there will be no pressure on Celtic going into the match whereas for rearrangerz it will be the last throw of the dice.

UKFC,

Oh dear, you are soooooo dilusional my little ablutophobic friend. you must be one of those many many rankers "fans" who dont attend the games and cant afford setanta BUT because you own a ring with RFC on it, a union jack baseball cap, a 1996/7 strip and buy a tracksuit every year then think you are a true "fan" (although adding NY on to the end of it would be more true to the point).
Just a shame you are soo short sighted that you couldnt see the game and because you appear to have spent most of your school years selling sports sox down the barra's are unable to read other wise you would be able to read the match reports (even from the daily ranger) to see YOU are the only fool to think your team deserved anything from the match.

Yes we too have dropped points against st midden BUT we didnt spend £17 million in the transfer window for the privelidge to do so.

Have Smaritans elaborated on why Rearrangerz fanz more than ever have been contacting them.
Have they confirmed that they blame the rise being as a result of Rearrangerz Football Club being kept afloat by everyone in Britain, including the good people of Ireland.

Have they confirmed that the largest number of Rearrangerz fanz contacting Samaritans formerly belonged to the Ibrox "No Surrender" Branch, since that No Surrender claim is now wholly preposterous on a ginormous scale.

It could be explained that Rearrangerz fanz need fear not.
So long as they stick to The Taxpayers instructions and demands then they should survive.

Their football club may be unrecognisable.

But they should survive.
Shouldn`t they.

Or will it be held in a big marquee at the training ground as a sort of bring and buy type country fete?...

I will give Celtic some credit, their run against the SPL diddy-teams has been very good. Rangers have lost a couple of away games to accentuate Celtic's good run. However, Celtic are not a good team. When they fall it will be sharp and dramatic, their only hope is that they will have built up enough of a points cushion to soften the blow. Could Celtic go on from being the worst sdie ever to win 3iar to become the worst side ever to win 4iar?

It just amazes me that none of the tabloids have yet picked up on the fact that Rearrangerz are about to become owned by all of us.

Having said that the final decision still has to be approved by HBOS shareholders themselves at their meeting to be held on 12/12/08.

Perhaps the laptoployalz are clinging on and failing to report on the current state of affairs in the hope beyond hope that HBOS shareholders throw out the Governments taxpayer proposals.

The Government spokesperson refused to pass comment on the effects this would have on Rearrangerz F.C in isolation.
The Governments proposals will have a fundamental effect "on many large institutions", was all that the spokesperson was prepared to confirm.

I can't see there being any truth in mcarthy going to rearrangerz.

For a start, there's the price, which will be around about £2m....and it could be more than that if one of the numerous clubs in england said to be watching him come in with a bid.

Secondly, there's rearrangerz hordes element ...it would be hard enough for an older, experienced irish catholic to deal with that , but for a kid still trying to learn his trade, you don't need the added pressure of thousands of bigots on your back every week.

Sure, there will be those who say that if he does well for rearrangerz, he'll eventually win them round, but there are plenty within the dark star for whom that isn't true and even if he scored a hatrick every week they'd much rather see the back of him.

He's too young to be dealing with all that nonsense...he needs to be focussed on developing his own talents and becoming all the player he can be without having to concern himself with 'turning' the minds of bigots.

You appear to have forgotten Rangers track record on transfers....

McCarthy may very well be valued at £2m or so....

But that will not stop Rangers starting to bid for him at around £250k...

with 15 final offers....

players offered as part of the deal....

the money to be paid over 10 installments....

with clauses on how many games he must play before oayment is made.....

what world records he must break to qulify for further payments....

and finally before Rangers make any serious payments for the lad.....sell him on for financial gain without spending a penny...

It's the Rangers way....

Ps. The lads agent needs to be aware of the Bainocchio approach to contracts.....

First he shows the lad the super dooper version...and then arranges for the lad to sign the altered version...

Idee the referee on Saturday had a decent match when compared to other officials throughout the season who have taken charge of the middle in SPL games.

None of his decisions caused the points to go to either side.

The Gers were rubbish at Tynie, and HMFC were worthy winners.

At this time a 7 point lead looks good for the tic, but still a long way to go. With 7 weeks left in the season last year the Gers held a decent points lead, with games in hand, and with the tic out of Europe, League cup and Scottish cup, the tic ended up going on a good run and won the title on the last day of the season. Do not count the Gers out. As I said still a long way to go.

Having said that,it just shows you just how confident the likes of Dougie McDonald and The Very Reverend are of getting away with deliberately cheating the public.

Take Saturdays disgraceful refereeing by "The Very Reverend" The Dougie McDonald.

He knew that his blatant decisions were going to be viewed LIVE on telly and seen by much more than used to be the case, when refs corruption entirely in favour of Taxpayers-Rearrangers went only witnessed by those who attended matches.i.e 95% supporters of Taxpayers-Rearrangers and therefore likely to stay stumme.

THAT is the confidence that the perpetrators of cheating in the Scottish game are able to secure for themslves.

Still, the whole of Scotland are now able to witness first hand the shenanigins that go on in attempting to keep Taxpayers-Rearrangers near the top of Scottish football.

"The Very Reverend" lookalike Dougie McDonald was a disgrace to his profession on Saturday.

Thankfully we dont have to take Taxpayers-Rearrangers supporting commentators on the radios word for how a game actually played out.
Thankfully, and via LIVE TV we can all see with our own eyes nowadays.

And how everyones eyes have been opened by just how much benefit Taxpayers-Rearrangers get from referees almost without fail.

Taxpayers should have finished that game on Saturday with no more than 8 players on the park.

Thats how blatantly biased "The New Very Reverend" was in favour of the Taxpayers.

Scottish football does deserve far far better than this.
Doesn`t it.

As we have seen off Monday morning let's raise the stakes for this afternoon's discussion. I will kick off with a topic of, "Celebrities who disappoint".

My story concerns STV cartoon man, Glen Michael. Many years ago he did a Christmas show at one of the Glagow theatres. I turned up expecting a veritable "cavalcade" of well known characters. Instead I had to endure a middle aged man doing tricks with balloons, enticing children to perform acts with him on stage. 1hr and 45 minutes I will never get back.

Scored 125 goals in 200 games for his old club.

Genuine CFC fans who have not been brainwashed by Liewells spin will be interested in his thoughts on the C Exec.

"Control freak", "paranoid","unhappy employees leaving" "confidentiality clauses" .

The list goes on & on.

"Part of me expected him to be grateful that he was recognised at all...however, i did not expect the filthy and foul abuse...I'll spare the details."

From sor's autobiography, "My struggle with Tourettes".

Time for a wee joke:

An out of work pianist with Tourettes Syndrome is strolling around
the streets and bars of Soho one unemployed afternoon.

Walking down Buchanan Street he sees a lounge bar with a sign

'F*_____cking get in there you c*_nt!' he says to himself and goes to
the bar. 'Get the f*____cking manager of this pigsh!t middle class
w*nkhole please... you c*_nt', he says to a somewhat startled barman. The
barman however obliges and his manager comes upstairs. 'Can I help you
sir?' he says 'Yes you can you fat piece of sh*t, I saw your poxy advert
in the c*ntting window and I'm here to audition.....w*nker.' The manager
is naturally put off by the man's abrasive manner but his dire need for
a top class pianist forces him to agree to an audition. The first tune
he Pianist plays is an uplifting jazzy number, not too involving, yet
utterly melodic. At the end the thrilled barman cries, 'Wonderful,
wonderful. What was that called?' 'That song was called "Excuse me prime
minister but I just ****ted your daughter, and now the bitch is
blind...'

'Oh' says the manager 'err, can you play me another. Something a little
less "lively". 'W*nker..' interjects the pianist before launching into a
powerful ballad which leaves the manager in tears. The manager through
his salty teardrops asks him the title.

'That little number was called "Sometimes when you do a bird up the ****
you get sh*t on your bell-end.' I see' says the manager, 'Have you got
any songs with less offensive titles?' 'Well there's my jazz number "Do
you want me to split your ringhole", or there's the epic "I don't care
if you're older my dear, you've still got nice jugs". 'Look' says the
manager interrupting, I think yo

I think you're a superb pianist but the title of
your songs are a little "racy". I will hire you on the condition that
you do not introduce your songs or speak to the audience.' 'F*____ck it'
says the pianist 'Why not'. On his first night everything is going
superbly the crowd are lapping up his repertoire and his silence is
being received as modesty.

The only thing putting off the pianist is that in the front row there is
a gorgeous blonde in a bla____ck evening dress with a split up the side
revealing the tops of her sto____ckings, and a plunging ne____ckline which
boasts a proud and inviting cleavage.

During the interval the pianist has got such an impressive 'swelling'
that he decides to go to the bog and pollish one off, to 'relax
himself'. Just as he has 'relinquished' he hears himself being
re-introduced over the P.A, so he rushes ba____ck to the stage and finishes
his act. After the show he is at the bar relaxing when the blonde
approaches him. 'Hi' she says. 'Hello' he winces, struggling to hold in
the expletives. She leans over and whispers in his ear, 'Do you know your
pen_is is hanging out of your trousers, and sp*nk is dribbling onto
your shoes?'

'Know it?' says the pianist putting his beer on the bar confidently,

I f*____cking wrote it!!!'

What people don't appreciate is that to be a true craftsman in our game, you need a relatively secluded spot where your screen is not overlooked. So you either need your own office or choice of seating in an open plan layout. Alternatively you could operate from your bedroom or down the library. However you get here, none of us should underestimate the importance of the work we do. We are the fuel that keeps the dream alive.

Another wee trick for your list. Make sure you print off at least one large document a day, something with a few graphs that jams up the colour printer for a while is ideal.

Good point. An extreme diversion tactic would be if you overhear people taking and laughing in the office. You can mkake a point of saying to your nearest colleague, "Have they not got enough work to do? They should try coming up this end of the office..."

Enough of this idle banter. Let's right a Christmas song! We will do the lyrics first I will put the tune in at the end. if you ar chipping in a line be sure to include the number as in the first line below.

Line 1: It's that time of year that no one should fear, a time of holly and to bre jolly.

#323 Swordsman's Chores

"He doesn't brush-up, He doesn't wssh-up, he soesn't clean-up, the bhoy does nothing, HE DOES NOTHING. But if the bhoy can dance, he gets a 2nd chance. "

What's the betting that Swordman's chore this afternoon is the horizontal mamba!

A Christmas lament for Wattie at the festering season at Ibrox..

"I'll have a blue christmas without you
I'll be so blue just thinking about you
Decorations of Green on a silver league trophy
Wont be the same Wattie, if youre not here with me

And when those blue matchpoints start falling
Thats when that blue depression start calling
Youll be doin all right, with your christmas of green and white
But I'll have a Boo Hoo, blue blue blue christmas

(instrumental break)

You'll be doin all right, with your christmas of green and white,
But I'll have a Boo Hoo, blue christmas"

I must commend Glasgow Rangers for starting the season of giving a wee bit early this year. What with the gifting of precious league points to those less well off than themselves in Motherwell,Dundee,Paisley and Embra.Add to this generosity the news that this great institution (You dont have to be mad to play here, but it helps!!!)singlehandedly underpins the entire Irish economy to the tune of £4.35p per fiscal year....

Hats of to all concerned..Hurrah!

I have been seeking legal advice on my ownership of Rearrangers.....

With a heavy heart...after many hours of legal debate I have to accept...I can't get shot of them...

So as an owner I think I shoudl take an active roll....I will be at the next 20 minute AGM...to ask Sid some probing questions...

Jerrmanders
Slaine

Riotus Maximus

We should look demand to see the books so we can decide what our overall plan of action should be for winding up the Company....and obviously if we want to start a supporters coach...The Celtic owners of Rearrangers number 1...

Saint Johnston v Rearrangerz.

That's the tie that everyone's got their eye on...the rearrangerz lamentable performances on the road continues this season unabated, and Saint J , as the league leaders in division 1 will go into this one with their tails up.

In contrast, the rearrangerz' bus will be shrouded in anxious silence as they travel up the M90 to Perth.
There won't be much easy banter going on that night I can tell you, especially as by the then the champions could conceivably have wrapped up the title to everyone's satisfaction.

That could turn out to be "walter's" last day in charge. If their title challenge has by then gone awry, get "ready" for "meltdown at the dark star" when rearrangerz crash out of the SC to lower league side Saint J , faced with but a forlorn hope of lifting the CIS, whilst a rejuvinated hertz seek to confine them to uefa placing in the spl.
