Yokohama venue for Scotland friendly

SCOTLAND have confirmed the Nissan Stadium in Yokohama as the venue for their friendly against Japan on 10 October.
The Scots last faced Japan in 2006 when they won the Kirin Cup under Walter Smith after a goalless draw. The sides have only ever met twice, the previous friendly encounter also ending 0-0 in 1995.

One familiar face in the Japan team will be former Celtic midfielder Shunsuke Nakamura, now at Espanyol, who won his latest cap in a World Cup qualifier against Qatar.

I hope that the SFA are advising fans to arrive two days eraly so they have time to find the stadium.

Why did the SFA agree to this venue?

Did they think there was a Yokohama Nissan Stadium Inrenational airport?

Go to google maps and you'll find a very straightforward route:
1 hour train from the Tokyo's main international airport, change and get a local train for 18 minutes, then 17 minutes walk to the stadium.

So that's not even 2 hours, let alone 2 days. It's not as if Hampden has great public transport links!

I hope you have to make the journey to find out how bad it is.

And I doubt many fans will be travelling form Narita airport which in itself is at least 90 minutes from Tokyo.

You could walk to Hapmden in an hour.

Another SFA disgrace.

Fans will need to leave three hours travelling time each way on a match day.

If the game was being played at the National Stadium in Tokyo- walking distance from the best bars, restaurants and hotels.

All the big teams get to play there. Japanese FA making a fool of Scotland...

However, there is a famous rehab centre near the Yokohama stadium. Maybe the Travel Club are trying to put a wee package deal together for the Scottish supporters.

no4 yo are talking cr*p and not for the first time. I believe the 2002 World Cup Final was played in this stadium as are many of Japan's "big" friendlies-Saitama is often used for big internationals too. Based on recent Japan friendlies we could have been playing anywhere- Oita (Kyushu), Niigata or Kobe....It is EASY to get there from Tokyo and as I guess you have no interest in going yourself, why are you so upset?
